PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Mrs. Darden began her legal career in 1976. For over twenty-five years, she has handled a diverse field of cases including business and commercial matters, as well as civil and criminal matters on the federal and state level. Her early legal training began with the Baltimore law firm of Johnson and Smith, P.A. There she served under the tutelage of the Honorable Kenneth L. Johnson, now a Circuit Court Judge for Baltimore City. As an associate for Johnson and Smith, she was responsible for several major class-action Title VII cases in Virginia, Delaware, and Maryland.

The training and experience gained at Johnson and Smith, P.A. prepared Mrs. Darden for a mid-level position in the legal unit at the Baltimore District Office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in 1978. There she assumed litigation responsibility for several major Title VII class action cases against various Fortune 500 Companies. She progressed to a supervisory trial attorney position prior to leaving EEOC in December of 1982

In January 1983, she accompanied Kurt L. Schmoke, (three term Mayor of Baltimore City) to the State's Attorney's Office. Due to her experience and training, she was immediately assigned to the prosecution of several major criminal and conspiracy cases, including narcotics and homicide, as well as numerous civil auto forfeiture cases.
In July 1987, Evelyn O. A. Darden joined a local Baltimore law firm, as senior associate, and was responsible for a wide range of cases and the day-to-day management of the firm.

Subsequently, she had the opportunity to purchase an ongoing law practice in 1988. She transformed the practice from a part-time law practice to the full-time thriving practice that it is today. She is intricately involved in several major civil litigation cases (serious personal injury and wrongful death cases) as well as other matters. She continues to serve as managing partner of the firm of Addison-Darden. As a trial lawyer, she currently represents Plaintiffs in several wrongful death cases, personal injury and general practice matters.
